❚ Study Objectives

￮​ The policy for small business owners has been recognized as important for not only the national economy but also. Despite the various support programs implemented for issues such as small business scaling, the aging of business owners, and their vulnerability to external environmental changes have hindered the improvement of the business environment for small business owners.

￮​ This study investigates the business conditions of small business owners in Jeollabuk-do (a province in South Korea) in response to changes in domestic and international business environments. We also aim to examine the effectiveness of support programs and explore directions for improvement.

￮​ By gathering detailed information on the current status and business conditions of local small business owners, this study contributes to evidence-based policy establishment. Furthermore, we seek to derive ways of improving support programs for small business owners in Jeollabuk-do with the ultimate goal of enhancing the competitiveness of small business owners and creating a stable business environment through supportive policies.

❚ Study Methods

￮​ This study reviews the literature on systems related to support for small business owners (government policies, local government policies, etc.) and reviews previous research on small business owners (research reports, academic journals, etc.) 

￮​ Survey Target: Small business owners and small enterprises in the 14 cities and counties of Jeollabuk-do.

￮​ Expert Consultation: Formulation of survey items and questionnaires, development of policy directions based on the survey results, and other aspects related to the research.

￮​ Small business policy ultimately aims to support sustainable growth by enhancing the competitiveness and stability of small businesses.

￮​ Directions for improvement to achieve the objectives of small business policy can be summarized as swiftly adapting to changes in domestic and international business environments, enhancing business support and operational efficiency, and advancing policy development.
